Bringing up the map and navigating round it is awkward. UI: It is not great, controls are unfamiliar, I found myself repeatedly pressing the wrong key bind for an action. The two main characters go well together, and their conversations give an insight into each person’s thought process. About 90% of the story is told via audio and is very well done, up to a point. This adds an element of tension into the game. Some visual elements don’t make sense, but you don’t realise that until afterward.Īudio: If Firewatch has a silver lining, it is the audio which is fantastic, hearing the rustle of branches as you pass close to foliage, hearing every footfall you take.Īs you are alone, and all the communication is done via handheld radios.
